Located within Christchurch Airport (CHC) are all the facilities that a 21st-century traveller would expect, within both the International and Domestic Terminal buildings. There are duty-free stores, busy cafes, and coffee shops, newsagents and fashion stores.
Many passengers departing from Christchurch Airport choose to arrive in plenty of time and so may like to enjoy a sit down meal at one of the themed restaurants, with Asian-style cuisine being a popular choice at Noodle. Alternatively, the TimeZone entertainment centre is filled with the latest in arcade games. Just across from the airport, the Antarctic Attraction (open daily from 09:00) is the perfect place to kill time whilst learning all about Antarctica and its penguins - there is even real snow!

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
Christchurch Airport contains just over a dozen or so stores, based throughout both the International Terminal and Domestic Terminal areas. The main shops available within the Check-In Hall include Luggage Solutions, Toi Toi and Simply New Zealand, where visitors can choose between many quality souvenirs. In the International Terminal, the Relay newsagents is always popular, as is the JR Duty Free Departures and Arrival Stores, which is filled with tax-free goodies such as liquor, perfumes, watches, cosmetics, jewellery, electronic goods, cameras and tobacco.
Bars, Cafés and Restaurants
There are a number of tempting dining options spread around the airport, being situated either on Level 1 or in the International Departures Lounge. For a quick cappuccino and a bite to eat, choose between the Coffee Club and the Underground Coffee Company, while Burger King is a familiar brand that appeals to many travellers. Other dining highlights include Healthy Habits, Noodle, the Number Eight Kiwi Cafe, the Sakura Sushi Bar and Wishbone. For Italian-style pasta and pizzas, Trattoria Milano is the place to come.

Banking and related services are in good supply at Christchurch Airport. There are a number of cashpoint machines (ASB, BNZ and Travelex) dotted around the terminals and Check-In Hall. In the International Terminal, Travelex Currency Exchange is a popular choice with holidaymakers and stocks more than 40 different foreign currencies.
Business and Conference Facilities
Business amenities include a handful of meeting rooms, spacious airline lounges, telephones, fax machines and photocopying services. Further business facilities can be found at the International Antarctic Visitors Centre and the Sudima Hotel Grand Chancellor, which are part of the overall CHC complex. In International Arrivals, mobiles phones can be hired at the Vodafone Rental store.
Other Facilities
Other facilities at CHC include an airline sales desk, first aid, luggage storage, luggage trolleys, a luggage transfer desk, a lost property counter, mobile phone rental and passenger assistance. There are also bathrooms and showers, sightseeing trips, Internet kiosks and a host of entertainment venues, such as the Antarctic Visitors Centre, Kidzone and TimeOut.
